Car Park Lining at Seatown West

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive can an examination of the car park spaces at
Seatown West be carried out following the provision of the new paths?”

Reply:
The area referred to in the Question requires additional works before new lining
can take place. These works will take place in Q3/Q4 of 2017.

“To ask the Chief Executive can the Council repair and strengthen the wall at 14
Windmill Avenue, Swords due to the damage caused by a tree on the public
path?”

Reply:
Arrangements will be made to liaise with the householder to carry out an
assessment of the damage at the location referred to in the Question.

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive can improved measures be implemented in The Elms,
Ridgewood in order to guard against casual parking by users of the adjacent
sports fields?”

Reply:
This Elms Ridgewood has not been taken in charge by Fingal County Council.
The Council cannot carry out works on housing developments not in charge.
The Operations Department is working closely with both local sports clubs
allocated pitches at Ridgewood to better manage the parking associated with
fixtures to ensure residents are not inconvenienced.

Motion: Councillor D. Smith
“That the Chief Executive provide a solution to tackle non-residents parking in
the Carlton Court Estate through the provision of double yellow and single yellow
lines where appropriate in the Estate?”

Report:
Until such time that Carlton Court is taken in charge, Fingal County Council is not
in a position to provide the measures requested. When the taking in charge
process is complete options around parking can then be considered.

Motion: Councillor D. Smith
“That the Chief Executive agrees a plan to ensure the practice of parking on the
path at the western and southern boundaries of Balheary Park is ended as it is
increasingly dangerous for pedestrians.”

Report:
Consideration will be given to the provision of double yellow lines along the
boundaries referred to in the question in consultation with An Garda Siochana
.In the meantime, incidences of illegal parking on the public footpath should be
brought to the attention of the local Gardai.

“To ask the Chief Executive if works can take place to reinstate paths on the R122
between the Easons Warehouse up to the roundabout with the R108 in order to
improve pedestrian connectivity for residents of Newtown Cottages and Saint
Margarets who use the 83 bus?”

Reply:
The provision of a footpath at the location referred to in the Question is a
substantial project that can only be undertaken when funding for such works has
been identified and in this regard it will be listed for consideration in future
Works Programmes.
