Road Surfacing on Woodies Bridge

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive can tactile or more textured surfacing be applied on
the bridge at the Woodies roundabout, specifically at the steep part of the Bridge
on the Hertz/Woodies side of the bridge as a number of people have slipped and
injured themselves on frosty mornings?”

Reply:
The surfacing of the bridge at the Woodies roundabout has been examined and
the existing surface is considered to be appropriate.

“To ask the Chief Executive can the street sign at Rathbeale Court be replaced as
it is completely worn away?”

Reply:
Arrangements will be made for the replacement of the sign at this location.

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive has any assessment taken place on the Main Street in
Donabate Village regarding the surface of the road and if any works are planned
to improve the road surface in 2017?”

Reply:
The location referred to in the Question has been examined and the repairs of
the damaged sections of the road have been included in the Area Engineers
Maintenance Programme. The road would benefit from resurfacing and in this
regard, will be listed for consideration in future road resurfacing programmes.

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive if there are any plans for measures to be put in place
to guard against rogue parking in the Oaklands Park Estate?”

Reply:
It is assumed that the Question refers to Castle Avenue and Oaklands Ave and
Park. There is pay and display parking on Castle Avenue to regulate parking.
Extensive double yellow and single yellow road marking has also been laid in this
area including at the entrance to Oaklands Ave. There are no plans to carry out
further measures at this time.

“To ask the Chief Executive are there any plans to alter the traffic and parking
arrangements on the triangle on Bridge St, Swords?”

Reply:
Consideration will be given to the permanent management of traffic and
pedestrians at this location in the context of any new development which might
occur in the area. In the meantime, traffic flow and movements will be reviewed
and optimised where possible.

“To ask the Chief Executive can a Lollipop person be employed for the crossing of
the Glen Ellan Road between Sandford Wood and Bride’s Glen?”

Reply:
The Road Safety Unit will carry out an assessment at this location to determine if
a School Warden is required.
