Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive can the shrubs at the rear of JC’s be removed for security reasons as they have become a den for people engaging in anti-social behaviour and intimidating commuters and people using the park to walk home from the shops?”

The area in question will be inspected and shrubbery cut back where appropriate. It should be noted that in the recent past while attempting to clear shrubberies in the area significant objections were made by residents.

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive acknowledging the great work done in removing the muck hills and installing bollards, can a landscaping plan be put in place for 2018 for the green space between Castlegrange and Jugback Lane in order to improve this space as a green space amenity?”

Reply:
It is intended to plant a number of trees on this open space in the current planting season which should greatly improve the appearance. In keeping with practise elsewhere the intention is to improve the area without creating an ongoing maintenance issue.

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive can the green space in the centre of Castleview Close, including the small grass patch beside the overflow car parking spaces and the strip of grass on entering the close be cut before the winter as the local resident who maintains this has no lawnmower anymore?”

Reply:
Unlike similar areas in other parts of Castleview these areas were grassed following representations from residents and others, subject to the agreement that the residents themselves maintain these areas. If the residents are no longer in a position to maintain the areas consideration will be given to the removal of grass and replacement with some other material that requires no maintenance.
