Trees at Elmwood Drive

Question: D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive to schedule a cropping of the top few feet of the
Lleylandii trees which form the boundary between Elmwood Drive and Abbeylea
in order to control their growth and improve the look of the boundary?”

Reply:
Extensive cutting back of the trees in question has been included in the works
programme and will be carried out at the end of the Bird Nesting Season.

Question: D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive can the shrub on the path jutting out between 4 and
6 Castleview Grove be removed as it is causing visibility difficulties for the
residents parking their cars and is a hazard and both residents agree that it
should be removed?”

Reply:
The area has been inspected and maintenance work will be carried out in the
next few weeks. It is proposed to cut back , rather than remove, the shrubbery at
this location .

“To ask the Chief Executive can the dip on the road on the Pavillions roundabout
on the R132 be repaired, the dip is located at the Feltrim Road exit of the
roundabout and will the Chief Executive make a statement on the matter?”

Reply:
The location referred to in the Question has been examined and the necessary
remedial works have been included in the Area Engineers Maintenance
Programme.

Motion: Councillor D. Smith
“That this Committee agrees to provide information sign(s) in the vicinity
of Swords Castle to outline the vision for Swords Cultural Quarter to
include drawings, graphics and text.”

Report:
Signage arrangements for Swords Castle are currently being reviewed and
it is planned that improved external signage will be delivered in Q3 2017.
This will include an element to outline the vision for Swords Cultural
Quarter using drawings, graphics and narrative.

“To ask the Chief Executive can work to improve the drainage on Old Brazeel
Way, (referenced in CRM 16/1708) be expedited as rain water continues to pool
on this road and does not drain away and this matter has been ongoing for 12
years?”

The location referred to in the Question has been examined and the remedial
works required have been included in the Area Engineers Maintenance
Programme.
