Question: Councillor D. Smith “To ask the Chief Executive how often the estates of Ashton Broc and Castleview in Swords are on the litter picking schedule?”

Reply: The main litter-picking rota is targeted at town and village centres, and areas of high pedestrian footfall to/from main commuter and business/retail locations. Most peripheral residential areas are litter picked on a non-scheduled basis and when the crews are available. This system works very well in tandem with residents associations’ community clean-ups which we are happy to support with bags/gloves etc and the bags are removed by Operations staff when we are notified of these clean-ups.

Question: Councillor D. Smith “To ask the Chief Executive can he provide a list of trees which are due for removal in the Swords local electoral area, including a map or directional sheet to where these trees are, and timelines for their removal?”

Reply: The tree crew has recently completed a body of essential works in the Swords area and are preparing to move to the North County for the next few months. A comprehensive report of proposed tree removals for the Swords local electoral ward will be prepared and circulated prior to their return to the Swords area in Spring of 2017.

Question: Councillor D. Smith “To ask the Chief Executive can the new bin which was placed on the Glen Ellan Road, outside Miller’s Glen Estate, be moved to the opposite side of the road where the majority of the foot traffic and dog walkers are?”

Reply: The bin was located in its present location where there is a substantial width of concrete footpath available and it doesn’t interfere with buggies etc. using the footpath. The concrete part of the footpath on the opposite side of the road is only 3 feet wide and would be narrowed considerably were a bin to be installed there. In the circumstances it is not proposed to relocate the bin.
