Key Policies

Housing

Housing is the civil rights issue of this generation. Labour believes the state needs to take a much more active role via a state construction company to ensure that enough homes are built to meet demand.

My Legislation

I have written a number of pieces of legislation in my time as a TD and been a co-sponsor on a number of others. Below is a number of my own pieces of legislation.

Occupying Power (Securities and Handling of Settlement Goods) Bill 2025

This Bill would ensure that the Central Bank would not approve a prospectus for securities issued by or on behalf of a state that is an occupying power and would enshrine in law that a dismissal of an employee shall be
deemed unfair where it arises from a refusal to handle goods associated
with the activities of an occupying power within occupied territory.

Organisation of Working Time (Leave for Health Screening Purposes) Bill 2025

This Bill would provide for a period of paid leave in order to enable employees to participate in health screening programmes to aid in catching cancer earlier.

Protection of Accident Victims from Non-Consensual Recording of Images Bill 2022

This Bill would prohibit the recording or publication without consent of certain images of persons who are dead, seriously injured or in shock as a result of an accident or other emergency.
