Housing

Housing is the civil rights issue of this generation. Labour believes the state needs to take a much more active role via a state construction company to ensure that enough homes are built to meet demand.

Education

Labour want to make our education system work for everyone. Children with additional needs have been left behind. We can't accept that. Change is possible and we are prepared to enact that change so that no child is lost to the system.

Transport

Our public transport infrastructure is well below where it needs to be. Labour is prepared to invest heavily to ensure the delivery of big public transport projects such as Metrolink, BusConnects and a number of new LUAS lines.

Childcare

Childcare costs have gotten out of control and government have refused to take on the big providers. Labour have the will and the plan to lower childcare costs for families.

Health

Overcrowding in our health system has become overwhelming. The lack of primary care centres for communities exacerbates the problem. Labour is prepared to invest the capital in our health system to truly tackle the issue and breathe new life into Sláintecare.

Climate

Labour takes the climate emergency seriously. We need big solutions to such a big problem and we want to see a street by street retrofit project carried out by the state.

Occupying Power (Securities and Handling of Settlement Goods) Bill 2025

This Bill would ensure that the Central Bank would not approve a prospectus for securities issued by or on behalf of a state that is an occupying power and would enshrine in law that a dismissal of an employee shall be
deemed unfair where it arises from a refusal to handle goods associated
with the activities of an occupying power within occupied territory.

Organisation of Working Time (Leave for Health Screening Purposes) Bill 2025

Protection of Accident Victims from Non-Consensual Recording of Images Bill 2022

This Bill would prohibit the recording or publication without consent of certain images of persons who are dead, seriously injured or in shock as a result of an accident or other emergency.
