Traffic Management Plan Swords Village

November 13, 2016 by Duncan Smith

Motion: Councillor D. Smith “That the Chief Executive provides a traffic management plan for Swords Village for the December period to cope with potential traffic problems caused by the opening of the new Lidl and Aldi stores and in particular ensuring that traffic access to the estates between the Malahide Road and the Seatown Road remains accessible in case of emergencies.”

Report: Fingal County Council will liaise with An Garda Síochána in relation to traffic movement around Swords during the month of December. The roads in the Swords area are considered priority routes where roadworks will not be permitted during the month of December to help alleviate potential traffic problems. All Traffic signals have been optimised to maximise the capacity of the junctions where they are located. The operations department will continue to monitor the operation of the traffic signals and make changes to timings if required.
