Recycling Bins Glen Ellan Road

March 12, 2016 by Duncan Smith

Motion: Councillor D. Smith – . “That the Chief Executive engages with the owner of the old Motorola site, with a view to exploring the possibility of moving the recycling bins which are currently on the Glen Ellan Road, outside St Colmcille’s GAA Club, to the disused car park on the old Motorola site, given safety, traffic and litter concerns from local residents and road users to the current location.”

Report: As reported in a previous response to this issue the Waste management section would be happy to investigate any specific issues raised or arising in relation to the usage of this site. To date only one complaint has been received from a member of the public, which reached us in the past week, relating to traffic. We would again request that all individual concerns be referred to us so that the matter can be properly investigated. Notwithstanding, Fingal County council has no problem looking at any potential site for bring bank location, if it offers a better, more viable alternative. This includes consideration of the old Motorola site bearing in mind potential issues around security and insurance.
