R121 Road Signage & Clean Up

September 8, 2016 by Duncan Smith

Question: Councillor D. Smith “To ask the Chief Executive to examine the R121 between the R135 and R122, with a view to cleaning up the ditches of old car parts and other bulky waste and to examine the need for improved speed signage, reflector painting and strips particularly on the bridge FG – R121 – 004 00?”

Reply: Fly-tipping is an on-going problem at locations across the county. Roads are patrolled and where fly-tipping is located as part of the patrol, it is removed. Members of the public also report fly-tipping directly to the Operations Department and crews will visit the locations reported and remove illegal dumping. The R121 was examined and additional road warning information signs have recently been erected.
