Pathways in Rivervalley Park

February 9, 2017 by Duncan Smith

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive to indicate when work on the pathways and lanes in
the Swords River Valley Park linking Knocksedan to the wider park area, will be
cleared of overgrowth and vegetation and will be a usable path network for the
residents of Knocksedan?”

Reply:
These lands are not yet in charge and legal discussions are ongoing between
representatives of the land owner and the Parks and Green Infrastructure
division. A fully consultative strategic planning process for the Ward River Valley
Regional Park is scheduled for later this year which will set the investment
priorities for the short, medium and longer term. The provision of the
connections to the existing areas of open space will be one of the highest
priorities.
