Question: Councillor D. Smith – Coastal Erosion.
“To ask the Chief Executive for an up to date assessment of the plan to
tackle coastal erosion in Portrane, is there any Budget for these
measures for 2017 and are there timelines for the implementation of
any measures?”

Reply:
The Council will undertake a coastal flooding study of Portrane to assess
the potential impacts of possible further erosion of the dunes with a view
to determine the need for flood defence measures and how these might
be combined with coastal erosion prevention. Funding has been arranged
for the study which is to be completed this summer.
