Chapel Lane and Oaklands Landscape

October 12, 2017 by Duncan Smith

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive if, following previous questions, has consideration been given to a landscape plan for the lane between Chapel Lane and Oaklands in Swords to make it safer for pedestrians?”

Reply:
Some clearance work has been undertaken at the location to improve the appearance of the area and some further works are planned such as crown raising on the younger trees. There is a reluctance to remove any of the old evergreen trees notwithstanding the fact that one of them is blocking light from the lamp beside it. Investigations are ongoing to see if it might be possible to provide an additional lamp adjacent to the pathway.
