Swords Main St Pedestrian Crossing

October 12, 2017 by Duncan Smith

Question: Councillor D. Smith
“To ask the Chief Executive can an improvement be made to the pedestrian crossing on Swords Main St outside the old Star Pub as the existing signage is blocked by trees and can a toucan or other system be considered?”

Reply:
The pedestrian crossing was removed at this location as it was too close to the signalised junction at Swords castle, approximately 60m to the north. A toucan crossing or zebra crossing would not be appropriate at this location due to the geometry of the road and the proximity to the traffic signalised junction at Swords castle.
